چکیده
Climate change is emerged as an issue of great concern for the nations around world. It affects virtually all physical, biological and human systems on this planet. However, impacts are particularly severe highly climate sensitive environments like Himalayas. The well observed in Himalayas form increasing temperature, melting glaciers, formation glacial lakes, lakes outburst floods (GLOFs) event changing biodiversity ecosystems. Climate Variability Impacts on Land Use and Livelihoods in Drylands
This edited volume is devoted to the examination of the implications of the inevitable changes wrought by global change on the welfare and livelihoods of tens of millions of people who live in dryland regions. Global change is more than just climate change and the ramifications of changing trade patterns (geopolitical and economic aspects), the shift to the market economy, demographic factors (...
متن کاملThe melting Himalayas: cascading effects of climate change on water, biodiversity, and livelihoods.
The Greater Himalayas hold the largest mass of ice outside polar regions and are the source of the 10 largest rivers in Asia. Rapid reduction in the volume of Himalayan glaciers due to climate change is occurring. The cascading effects of rising temperatures and loss of ice and snow in the region are affecting, for example, water availability (amounts, seasonality), biodiversity (endemic specie...
متن کاملInvestigation on Climate Change in Meteorological Stations of Guilan Province and its Impacts on Water Balance
Climate has always been changing during the lifetime of the earth, and has appeared in the form of the ice age, hurricanes, severe and sudden temperature changes, precipitation and other climatic elements, and has dramatically influenced the environment, and in some cases has caused severe changes and even destructions. Some of the most important aspects of climate changes can be found in preci...

ISSN: 1652-6880, ISBN: 978-91-576-7388-6 It is well known that soil carbon stocks decrease considerably in response to soil warming, but experimental data have shown that the loss of carbon declines within decades in apparent acclimation. An explanation to such findin...
متن کاملClimate change impacts on forestry.
Changing temperature and precipitation pattern and increasing concentrations of atmospheric CO(2) are likely to drive significant modifications in natural and modified forests. Our review is focused on recent publications that discuss the changes in commercial forestry, excluding the ecosystem functions of forests and nontimber forest products. We concentrate on potential direct and indirect im...
